Alex J. Lopez-Garcia is a researcher and PhD student in Nanoscience at Universitat de Barcelona. He performs his studies and research at Institut de Recerca en Energia de Catalunya (IREC) in the Solar Energy Materials and Systems group under the supervision of Dr. Edgardo Saucedo and Prof. Dr. Alejandro Perez-Rodriguez. Before, he was a bachelor in Physics at Universidade de Santiago de Compostela and a M.Sc in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology at Universitat de Barcelona, with experience as master visiting student at the Institut Català de Nanociència i Nanotecnologia (ICN2) working on synthesis and characterization of graphene nanoribbons and nanoporous graphene structures at the Atomic Manipulation and Spectroscopy Group. His research interest focuses on synthesis and analysis of wide bandage oxide-based materials for use as functional layers in solar cells, with an emphasis on wavelength-selective Transparent solar cells.
