Dr Pelin Yilmaz is a material scientist specialised in functional nanomaterials for energy applications. She received her PhD degree from Queen Mary University of London in 2016 on research carried out in photocatalysis and solar hydrogen generation with nanoceramics decorated with plasmonic metals. Her further work at research companies and institutes (Johnson Matthey Battery Centre and IIT & Leitat Technology Centre) include materials synthesis, device fabrication and design for batteries and dynamic smart windows. She is currently doing a post-doc at University of Twente & TNO-Solliance, working on reliability and degradation mechanisms in thin film CIGS solar panels.
