Mr. Gilles Plessis
Gilles Plessis, Moret Loing et Orvanne, France
Gilles joined EDF R&D in 2010 to work on numerical simulation of building physics. He was strongly involved in the development of BuildSysPro, the open-source library describing the use of energy in buildings. His expertise was focused on model order reduction and coupling approaches with other simulation domains such as district heating, occupant behavior and electric grid modelling.
In 2016, he joined EIFER - European Institute for Energy Research - to lead a research project on sustainable cities and territories. This project, through description of energy demand, renewable energy potential and cross-cutting aspects such as energy poverty supports the local authorities in France to face the energy transition challenges.
Since 2019, he came back to EDF R&D to work on photovoltaic ageing and to lead research activities on self-consumption for the EDF group.
