Hannes Höffler grew up in Hamburg. He studied physics at the University of Freiburg with a specialization on laser- and semiconductor physics. In his diploma thesis he studied the dissociation of the D3 molecule. In 2011 he joined the Fraunhofer ISE to work on his PhD thesis about photoluminescence imaging and it´s applications. From 2015 to now he is responsible for the characterization laboratory within the PV technology evaluation center (PVTEC) at Fraunhofer ISE, which he helped rebuilding after a burndown in 2017.
