The COVID-19 pandemic has taken its toll on all European industries, solar included, impacting supply, demand, and logistics.
To address this unprecedented crisis, and turn it into a European opportunity, the European Commission’s proposed a historic Recovery Plan, ‘Next Generation EU’, unlocking €750 billion to increase the resilience of European societies, notably by supporting the achievement of European Green Deal objectives.
As the fastest growing source of energy in the EU, solar will be a key player in ensuring Recovery Plans fully enable the achievement of climate neutrality, while contributing to create new jobs, stimulate sustainable growth, and increase both the EU’s industrial competitiveness and energy autonomy. The European recovery plan is therefore a unique opportunity to leverage the €60 billion of annual investments needed to fully tap into the EU’s solar potential.
This session will explore the key actions that Member States can take to fully harness the potential of a solar powered recovery.
