Summary / Abstract: Al-doped zinc oxide (ZnO) (AZO) nanoparticles (NPs) are promising electrontransporting layer (ETL) for perovskite solar cells (PSCs) because of its lower cost, simpler deposition process, milder sintering temperatures, and higher electron mobility. Here, the structural and optical properties of AZO were investigate for different Al doping concentration and post synthesis annealing temperature. Structural and morphological properties were analyzed by the powder X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The optical properties of the prepared samples have been studied using UV–visible (UV–Vis) absorption, and ellipsometry. UV–Vis absorption spectra revealed a blue shift in absorption peak for the 0.5% Al doped sample at higher annealing temperature, indicates quantum size confinement effect. Red-shifted in absorbance peak was obtained for higher doping concentration of Al, which can be attributed to change of the surfaces of the nanoparticles. The crystallinity is improved with the rise in the annealing temperature as well with the increasing Al contents.
