Summary / Abstract: For years researchers have been trying to find ways to obtain low cost and high efficiency solar cells. In 2013 they proposed a solar cell based on ferroelectric perovskites [1] which made it possible, by doping KbNO3 with Ba, Ni and Nb, to reduce the gap of KbNO3 from 4 to 1.5 eV like that of halogenated perovskites with ferrophotovoltaic behavior. Several researchers have used different ferroelectric oxides in order to achieve higher efficiency with better stability compared to halogenated perovskites. The present work proposes another way to obtain solar cells based on ferroelectric oxides with very high efficiency beyond that of halogenated perovskites and requiring only ferroelectric nanoparticles thin layers dispersed in biopolymer thus allowing the reduction of their environmental impact and their ease of recycling.
