Summary / Abstract: The PVSITES project aims to significantly improve the deployment of the Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV) market in the short and medium term. In this sense, several prototypes of innovative photovoltaic (PV) modules suitable for building integration have been developed, tested in laboratory and some of them have been mounted on demonstration buildings (TRL 7) and other ones on experimental buildings (TRL 6) in four different sites and climates (France, Belgium, Spain and Switzerland). One of the BIPV prototypes developed by ONYX and currently being tested on a South-oriented facade of an experimental building at CEA INES site at Le Bourget du Lac is the Framing system for c-Si large area glass. A one-year tests campaign is performed. The electrical performance of a XL format monocrystalline silicon photovoltaic module and the mechanical resistance of its mounting structure were estimated. Results have shown that no mechanical deformation has appeared in the modules frame or in the mounting structure of the XL format PV module.
