Summary / Abstract: This paper presents an updated SWOT-analysis related to the uptake of solar energy in the 2Seas countries as developed within an Interreg project, Solarise – Solar Adoption Rise in the 2Seas. The solar energy deployment in the 2Seas countries involved in the Solarise project: Belgium, France, the Netherlands and United Kingdom, may be in the very near future negatively affected by Brexit, by the changes in economic policy with respect to the imports of PV-cells/panels from China (the main producer), by the smart metering measures and also by other EU, national or local measures. Similarities and differences in the solar energy market and also in the economic, technological, social, political/legislative and environmental boundary conditions are discussed together with best practices in these specific countries.
